Present Work
With over 30 years of experience in IT, I practice web design and development,
consulting and re-educating myself in the graphics arts and design, from pencil drawing to
photography. Recreational activities include jogging, biking around our lakes and trails
and then my hobbies of studying music via playing the guitar and collecting coins and stamps.
I hope to increase my indoor plant collection this summer, but that might be a stretch.

As images form an important part of most web sites, I use many visual tools and display techniques to capture the viewer’s attention.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) statements and guidance are built into web sites which I construct.
Applying technologies that give the viewer a rich Internet experience by using PHP, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, and MySQL, all of which are Open Source tools, provides my clients state of the art technologies without using software that requires costly licenses and restrictions.
I practice photograpy capturing portraits, landscapes and abstract images.
I look for direct honest images that reflects the presented world.
Along with this I have recently rekindled my interest in fractal generation.
A few images are now displayed on this site.
My design efforts are for small companies and personal websites in the local area and around the web.
I design with a clean graphic look that integrates contemporary web technologies and maximizes
usability and presentations. Usability is the primary goal for a viewer to access the information
on a business or display site and then, explain the products presented.
The tools for the design are contemporary technologies that bring forth the best in products
and services. My design skills are not only limited to web sites, as I design for direct mail
adverting, postcards, brochures, posters, T-shirts.
I hand build websites using GIMP and Inkscape, Netbeans, and test on a local Apache server,
I test all web products and verify they work on IE, Firefox, Safari and Chrome.
In developing a web site, I use the most up to date technologies, AJAX, jQuery, PHP, and MySQL.
All of which are Open Source tools. One successful use of these tools provides a rich internet
experience commonly called web 2.0. I have also modified and upgraded templates in order to
minimize cost.
